IHOP(™) Belgian Waffle

Today I have a secret recipe for an IHOP dish that is great for breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert.  Belgian waffles are made with a lighter batter and have larger squares and deeper pockets than ordinary American waffles.  These waffles are perfect for toppings.  They taste great with simply just maple syrup, but you can also top with fresh berries and whipped cream or even ice cream and hot fudge.  Feel free to get creative with your toppings.

New Secret Recipe

IHOP(™) Belgian Waffle

1 3/4 c. all purpose flour
1/4 cup corn starch
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 3/4 c. milk
1/2 c. cooking oil
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
a pinch of nutmeg
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Preheat your waffle iron.

Whisk all of the ingredients together in a large bowl until smooth.

(Grease waffle iron before each use) Pour approximately 1/2 cup batter onto the hot waffle iron, and cook for 3:30 minutes, or to your liking.

Serve hot and fresh with berries and whipped cream!
